Fred Amrein

Fred Amrein is the founding principal of Amrein Financial, College Affordability and REPAY411; all are independent, fee-only financial firms in Pennsylvania. Fred earned an MBA in Finance and a Bachelor of Science degree with dual majors in Accounting and Marketing from St. Joseph’s University. He attained the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation from the American College in Bryn Mawr.

Mr. Amrein has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek and other national publications. In addition, he appears on various media programs speaking about personal financial topics, mostly educational funding and student loan repayment issues. Fred has also developed several software programs that analyze college costs, financing options and student loan repayment.  He is also involved with student financial literacy programs.

On a professional level he is a board member of the National College Advocacy Group (NCAG)and a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA).  He has established a reputation as a college funding expert with both the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA) and Independent Educational Counselor Association (IECA).  Both organizations are leading professional membership groups in the college decision consulting process.

On a personal level he has been married for almost 30 years and has three daughters.  He enjoys golf and tennis along with spending time with family and friends.  He has lived this experience with his three daughters.  They all graduated from college on time and got the jobs that they wanted at graduation.  This included school changes, academic major changes and one being a student athlete.
